in Ireland. The reference is to one of his poems.
 
Apropos students, Pound wrote of Marianne Moore and
Mina Loy:
 
"The arid clarity, not without its own beauty, of le
temperament de l'Americaine, is in the poems of these,
I think, graduates or post-graduates. If they have not
received B.A.'s or M.A.'s or B.Sc-s they do not need
