Dear Pound ListServ members,

Many of you know me as the Publications Specialist at the NPF. Due to Burt's
passing, I have arranged to become the "owner" of this ListServ and will
soon be trained in the intricacies of ListServ operation, so if you are
experiencing any difficulties with the ListServ, let me know and I will do
my best to resolve the problem.

A question came up recently about how to subscribe to this ListServ. Over
the past few years the directions have changed. Here is the current procedure:

Send an e-mail message to

[log in to unmask]

and in the body of the e-mail, enter

subscribe epound-l your name

(for example, "subscribe epound-l Betsy Rose")

Be sure to omit any other text from the body of the e-mail (such as an
automatic signature block).

You will be sent further directions via e-mail about how to log on to the
site, confirm your subscription and password, etc.

If you know someone who has tried these directions but is unsucessful,
please send them my way ([log in to unmask]) and I'll give them a hand.

Thank you all for your messages about Burt. We are all very much in mourning
at the NPF, in the English Department, and throughout the University of
Maine community. Clearly the sadness at Burt's passing is being felt all
over the world. We are all extraordinarily blessed at having known Burt, if
not in person, then through his extensive scholarship.

Best wishes,
Betsy Rose
