Can you explain the difference?  Isn't a vanguard (say, the Leninist
vanguard) simply a secularized version of the chosen people idea?

To say that the Fascists, or the Marxist-Leninists are THE HISTORICAL force
which are destined to rule society--- how does that differ substantially
from the chosen people concept?
