Actually, if Maine goes 0-1-1 this weekend, UMass will have earned 3
points to lead Maine 32 to 30 and would be seeded ahead of Maine. With
this scenario, VT could earn anything from 4-6, depending on its
results. Maine would be 5th or 6th.
Maine must earn 2 points this weekend to have a chance for 4th place.
As you say, 3 Maine points is required to assure 4th place and home ice
in the HEA tournament first round.
