Just wanted to thank everybody for all of the informative stuff posted
on the list so far this season.
I'm one of those longtime lurkers out there who take take take, but
never give.
Actually, defenceman Adam Tate (13) is my younger brother, so I thought
I'd sound biased if I participated. Plus, I've only been to two Bears
games in my life, both of which were in Minneapolis earlier this season
(I live in Calgary, Alberta, so Orono is a bit of a hike).
I won't have access to this list for a while as of January 31, but I
wanted to thank everyone for keeping the rest of us who can't be there
up-to-date and in the know.
One more thing. Of course I speak from a defenceman's perspective, but I
have a comment to make about the serious number of shots Maine opponents
have been getting in recent Bears contests.
In my limited experience, whenever opposing teams get a lot of shots and
scoring chances consistently, the problem almost always stems from
forwards who don't come back to help out the defence. Clearly, if the
forwards don't cover up, you'll have a 5 on 2 situation on every
oncoming rush and that necessarily means a lot of shots and scoring
chances. Am I on the right track here?
I'm not trying to distribute blame or anything -- just making an
observation without the benefit of actually having observed :-)
Thanks again.
