Howard, it is a fact not sour grapes.  Since the coaches vote, they know
when those votes were due by.  Walsh told me himself when he had to submit
his vote and it was well before the season was over.
 
What bothers me isn't that Matile won the award, like I've said many times,
it could have gone either way.  What I believe is a complete farce is that
you have "season-long awards" with the voting done before the season is
complete.
 
Maine played four games after these award votes came due, UNH played three.
A lot could have happened in those games that would have been ignored, and
when you vote before the season is done the votes are subject to the
"current" performance, not the season long performance.
 
It would be completely unfair to say that Matile's winning of the award was
a horrible choice, because it wasn't.. heck he had three shutouts!!  My
problem is when the vote was taken and it doesn't matter who won, it is
wrong to vote before the season is done.
