The thing that impressed me the most about the UMaine-Merrimack contest was
Merrimack's aggressiveness and their hitting. The Maine players, except for
Matthias Trattnig, didn't place a very high priority on finishing their
checks.

Janik's goal was a bullet above the goalie's left shoulder--beautiful to
watch, beautifully set up.

Guite's goal was also nicely set up--although at the time, I feared it was
one pass too many. Guite then spent about a second and a half teeing up the
puck to get it up high, and I'm still not sure why the Merrimack goalie
wasn't able to get over to block it.

Heisten continues to impress with his work ethic, his strength, and his
ability to control the puck along the boards. IMHO, he's the most improved
Black Bear compared to last season--and he was very good last season!
