ORONO, Maine - Maine men's ice hockey freshman defenseman Tim Maxwell
has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week. Maxwell (Sherwood
Park, Alberta) scored his first career goal and added two assists in
the Black Bears 5-4 win at UMass-Lowell on Saturday. For the season,
Maxwell has five points on one goal and four assists in seven games
played.
This is the first Rookie of the Week honor for Maxwell. In the first
week of the season, Keenan Hopson was named Rookie of the Week.
Maine, 7-6-0 overall and 3-3-0 in Hockey East play, returns home on
Friday, November 19 for a match-up against Massachusetts. On Sunday,
November 15, the Black Bears will face Providence at the Cumberland
County Civic Center in Portland. Tickets are still available for both
