i agree very much with the above observation.  although i have not
witnessed a 98/99 game, alfie was very beatable and prone to losing
confidence right in front of your very eyes in past years.  you could see
it in the way he carried himself and the way he moved after a break away
goal got in.  he always went to the water and hung his head and then looked
at the ceiling and then got down and swung his head side to side as if he
was trying to shake it off.  it would get worse as more goals came in.
although like i said i haven't seen him in person this  year from what i
have read in the box scores and game recaps he is much improved especially
in the confidence area.  he always had it as a goal tender.  fire and
ability.  IMHO he just lacked the temper, now with a few years of maine
play under his belt he has it.
