yes

seems to me if one is reading out loud one's voice must have a quality  
- and that quality is best to be a natural affectation - but it is a  
choice

WCW looks nice on the page but sounds limp when he reads

when Stein reads she brightens what is on the page

i once got myself dissed on the near defunct UC Davis Stein list for  
suggesting that she Henry James and WC Fields all shared a sense of  
juicy delivery

i never read the Cantos - perfect time to start
