Willard and Jonathan,
i'm fascinated by the Kitaj/ Pound connection -- I saw the 1994
retrospective at the Tate, and was struck by the relevance of Kitaj's work
to Pound's poetry -- not only in the use of illustration and annotation,
but also in some of Kitaj's statements about his practice. In fact, now
I'm wondering whether Pound was actually mentioned in the blurbs
accompanying the paintings. Can you give any more information, Jonathan,
about where and when Kitaj commented on Pound? I'll try to get hold of a
catalogue and report back.
Rebecca
