I set this message last night, but it doesn't appear to have reached Lists.Maine. I hope it does this time.

Subject: David Gordon

Dear Poundians,
I have just heard from Alex, his son, that David Gordon died last Tuesday. He was one of Pound's regulars at St. Elizabeths. His photographs were the basis of the reproductions of Sheri Martinelli's art work and he trained himself to become a translator of Mencius. Even before Pound's release from St. Es he and his family spent time at Brunnenburg. In the early years of Paideuma he contributed most valuable commentaries on some of the later Cantos. He was also a poet in the Pound tradition. For about the last two years I was in regular email contacct with him and tried to tell him that he ought to be proud of his achievements. He was a real Poundian.
