Being a UMaine graduate (87) and former Maine resident, I find it commical
to suggest that weather Walsh was fired or suspended 2 years ago had a
bearing
on the matriculation decisions of thousands of prospective students over
the past 8 years! I suggest people look no further than the funding crunch
the school has had to endure since 1991 and the fact that tuition (in-state)
has tripled from 1987 to 1997 as reasons for the decline in enrollment.
