I'm sure that describes your feelings, Anthony. But why do you feel you
need to DICTATE the actions of others? Whenever an institution
unnecessarily dictates something, most people don't like it and find it
unfair. What's the difference here?

*Encourage* people to enjoy the game in a way they might not now, but
why prosecute or persecute them because their actions disappoint you?
Why drive people away when they want to take part and are needed?

Maybe when you have a young family, you'll understand that they need to
get to bed at a reasonable hour. Maybe your babysitter has a curfew.
Maybe you'll need to arise at 5am and be rested for a difficult day of
work? Maybe you would have left earlier but supported the program with
$5 or $10 of 50-50 tix and want to stay just a few more minutes in case
you have won. Maybe your drive home isn't to Orono, but to Brunswick or
Millinocket or Calais.

Maybe some of those people are better fans than you could imagine.

Maybe you're a UNH fan trying to undermine the good feelings Maine fans
get from enjoying and supporting the program anyway they can. Nah

Finally, while there is probably a waiting list for standard season
tickets, there are few games where people are turned away. If you drive
away those 1-2,000 people that left early, there isn't another 2,000 to
take their place. Either the program will suffer or your tuition or
fees will go up. I speak only for myself, but many who read this list
remember the days when 1,500 die-hards cheered on our then struggling
Black Bears. I prefer having the extra 3-4,000 people enjoying and
helping the program ... even if some have other commitments.

cheers, wayne
