MOORE TAPPED BY CALGARY IN DAY TWO OF NHL DRAFT
ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine forward Greg Moore (Lisbon, Maine)
was selected by the Calgary Flames in the fifth round of the 2003 NHL
Entry Draft, which concluded Sunday in Nashville, Tenn.
The 143rd pick overall, Moore was rated the 69th-best North American
skater by the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau. He finished his freshman
season at UMaine with nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 33
games played.
Moore and Black Bear teammate Jim Howard (Ogdensburg, N.Y.), who was a
second-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, both played for Team
USA at the 2003 World Junior Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
They will also both participate at the USA Hockey National Junior
Evaluation Camp, August 3-10 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
