Maine falls 3-2 blowing leads of 1-0 and 2-1 early in the third. BU
got a hometown call on the first goal from what I could see on the TV
replay, but certainly SOMEONE blew it on the game-winner as Ken Roche
was wide open cruising down the slot and Macarthur fed him perfectly
for the goal. (No one was near Roche)
I have to say, this is a very disappointing loss. Maine played a great
first period, but couldn't generate more offense and couldn't even get
out of the period with a lead thanks to the controversial goal. Maine
outshot BU 17-5 in the first according to the commentators.
Michel Leveille was injured in the third period and it looked pretty
nasty. Michel tried to leap a defender as he streaked down the wing
near the bench and he got upended and his leg came up and smashed into
the glass where it began. He was helped off the ice and did not
return.
Lundin played in net, but he didn't get a lot of help on the BU goals
between the kicked-in goal and two goals where he was essentially left
high and dry.
We really should have had this one. We let it slip away.
