I'm not sure this will help but I think I recall this story also being related
in one of the sections of Michael Levenson's _A Genealogy of Modernism_.  I
believe it was the discussion of TSE and EP in the book's epilogue, "The Editor
and the loathed disturber."  Apologies that I can't be more specific.
