I would like to hear more about the officiating at the Merrimack game. There
has been a real lack of commentary, especially considering the questionable
calls on Brian White and Coach Walsh. Maybe this isn't a topic that folks
feel comfortable addressing in a public forum, but I have heard a lot about it
from people privately, and felt it should at least be thrown out into the ring
for discussion or ignoring!!

Brian was the Captain designated to go talk the penalty over with the
officials, and did not invade the charmed circle, so why was that a call?
Walsh was trying to find out what the calls were, as any coach would. These
two penalties, especially the game DQ for White, turned the tide of a game
which was on the way to being a rout, allowing Merrimack back into the game.
It was also a huge factor in the game plan for the BC game.

Fitzgerald used to be one of the fairest officals we had in HE, but the last
season or so he has been, well, uneven is the kindest way to put it. Walsh
said in his pre-game comments on Saturday that the head of officials couldn't
do anything but shake his head (in disbelief) at the game tape review. Why is
it that the head of officials is so powerless to stop this kind of
officiating?
