"BOSTON — Gary Strickler, who has served as Boston University's Director of
Athletics since 1989, has announced his retirement effective July 1, 2004.
He will remain at BU for one year beyond that to serve as a consultant for
the school's new athletic director. It was not announced when Strickler's
successor will be named"

Look for Parker to pull a Bill Cleary and be named the Boston U AD at the
end of next HE season, just after their first part season at their new
Agganis Arena (a close replica of the Tsongas in Lowell, I would suggest,
with the addition of only the luxury boxes).

No doubt BU will have conducted an exhaustive nationwide search..

At least they will likely be more successful in this endeavor than their
recent search for the replacement for Pres. Silber, or their investment
success with Seragen stock...

My suggestion for a going-away gift to Parker from the Alfond faithful:
