I never once backed out of what I said in my first
post, and I remain firm on what I said in both posts.
I was pretty consistent both things that I said as far
as I am concerned. I never back out of anything I
observe. And I'm not this time.

I neither heard nor saw the games this weekend. But I
stated my simple opinion from articles read and
personal accounts of folks that did see the game and
people that played IN the game. And the majority were
that Maine did not do what they should have on Friday
and came out Saturday and did do what they needed to.
And in my experience of watching Maine hockey, which
is not a short time, I firmly believe that Maine
underachieved Friday but made up for it convincingly
Saturday.

Jankus's quote tells me that he (and mayby a lot of
the team thought) that they could just plain beat the
snot out of Lowell and not play solid well executed
hockey Friday night and still come out with 2 points.
It tells me they did not look at Lowell as for real
compitition. And that they were only worried about
sweeping BC this weekend. Saturday night they added
to the psyical play and played TRUE UMaine hockey.

And if you payed attention to the rest of my posts,
you'd see that I am neither attacking or defending
Whitehead on this one. In your quote of Jankus,
Whitehead did just what I thought he did. Let the
team play their way and learn a lesson and pointed out
the short comings before Game 2. So from what I can
see, Jankus's quote backs up a lot of my opinion of
things. I actually see Whiteheads plan on this one
succeeding for Maine now and on into the postseason.
