Hi Lexy,

The point is that most of us out here can not afford season tickets. I only
know one. He even took me to a game once.

The fact is that a lot less people are going to the games. I only know one
person and he has a season ticket and he goes to every game. A lot of
different people used to sit in his seat. None of my friends go to any
games anymore. They can't afford season tickets either or they live too far
away from Orono.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to see a hundred or so tickets on the Monday
before every game if you could sell them all and give more people access?
What's wrong with that idea?

These full non-season ticket seats were not paying seats either--a good
chunk those seats were tickets held by the university for corporate
sponsors. I think the athletic department did a great service to the
community and the hockey fan base by releasing these tickets for sale either
as season tickets or single game seats.

The people that buy season tickets are just as much a part of the general
public as anyone else, so how is it not fair? If someone is willing to make
the upfront financial commitment of buying a season ticket, I would
certainly take that over having that same ticket available for walk-up and
purchased for only the "big" home games.

The university may be supported by the taxpayers, but the athletic programs
as a whole are not. All athletic programs at the university depend on the
revenue-generating teams...including hockey.
