Undoubtedly the most disciplined performance by the Bears witnessed this
season. As Dan Doucette stated :

>Umile got outcoached, also. Someone would have to explain how he failed to
>revise the game plan, or better motivate his team after the first goal, and
>his being shown a completely different defensive look by Maine than he had
>seen in the last visit to the Whittemore ?

You have to ponder this one about UNH coaching : with that much talent on the
bench, it shouldn't take more than one period to adjust; apparently they
can't. This game depicted a play-off atmosphere from the start for both
teams.

Maine won by playing classic Maine hockey:

Took all but THREE of the face-offs ---
Beat the opponent to the puck ---
Stopped the offense in the neutral zone ---
 Finished their checks --- ( hat's off to #22 + #11 )
Won all the one-on-one battles ---
Got into their opponent jersies ---
Buzzed the net down deep ---

As expected, the UNH old faithfuls claimed the loss was due to referee Bunyon
not blowing the game equally against Maine; it wasn't that way at all. He let
the players play and kept it under control giving the quick whistle on the
goalies hehalf on both ends.

Though local networks gave 'player of the game' to #10 - UNH Mark Mowers
any sober minded fan knows it certianly wasn't a UNH player .......

Who gets your vote ?

The play of the game ? ---- I say it was #18 giving UNH a skating lesson &
drawing the penalty when he was one-on-three in the offensive zone.
