Actually, Princeton didn't have anything to do with it.
 
St. Cloud, Northeastern and Northern Michigan would have gone first.
 
That said, as Shawn Walsh noted in the postgame press conference,
Maine certainly finished as one of the 12 best teams in the country.
Too many losses along the way simply made a Hockey East title
a necessity to get an NCAA berth.
