I agree with you about Davie's books on Pound. I actually sent a message
to the list a few months ago about the Coke Cantos, and had to admit
that I think Davie treats them shabbily in Poet as Sculptor, but as a
fan of Davie's prose and poetry, I suppose the debt is mine.
One thought: in addition to "Ezra Pound" and "Ezra Pound, Poet as
Sculptor" Davie's book "Trying to Explain" is worth reading. It contains
a long, six-part examination of Pound.
