* URock will host "College Goal Sunday" this coming Sunday, January 27th, at 2:00PM. College Goal Sunday is a free, nationwide program that helps students and families fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the form that's required to apply for financial assistance for higher education. Financial aid professionals will be available to help students complete the FAFSA and to answer any questions. All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win one of twenty $500 scholarships from FAME, the Finance Authority of Maine. Scholarship winners will be notified by FAME directly, and payment of scholarship funds will be made to the college during the fall 2008 semester. Students should bring their most recent tax information, such as completed IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 statements and other income and benefits information.

* The Student Association will host Mardi Gras mask making on February 5th throughout the day in the lounge. Stop by and show your talent with glitter and sequins to create your own personal look.

* In conjunction with the Maine State Career Center (2nd floor) we expect to host some area employers looking for job seekers on March 5th and the 19th. Stay tuned for more information.

* The add- drop period currently extends through Monday, January 28th, for fifteen week courses. This is the last day to withdraw/drop and still receive a 100% refund. Remember that if you decide to drop a class, you need to fill out a drop card.

* Free math tutoring is available for students at many different levels. Please stop by the office or speak to Bev for more information.
