what are we supposed to be judgmental about?
the crappy gpa??? 3.92 ???
I guess there goes his chance to transfer to
Harvard... the dummy!!!

just kidding

 a couple things:
1. the team played great and Ben was absolutely
outstanding. he was in position all night and the
pucks just hit him. He had ONE lucky save where he
left the right side of the net open and a shot from
the high slot hit him in a leg pad, other than that,
he was just about perfect. This is the first time I
could say that about Ben in a LONG time.
Jimmy's greatest asset, in my opinion (as assinine as
it is reputed to be) was his ability to be in position
and make saves look easy when he was "on". Ditto
Morrison. Saturday night, Ben was already there
before all of the pucks were.
The whole team hustled and all of the goals (except
the 175 footer) were from the very front of the net...
a great place to be if you wanna score a goal.

The rest of the season...
I hope that people can be FANS and let the boys know
that we are behind them.
One comment I heard ... not saying who said it... is
"I couldda chosen any school in Hockey East and almost
any school in the country. I chose Maine because, up
there, it is all about the hockey. They have the best
fans in the league. We had 3 great seasons and the
fans were great, and now we are having one down year
and the fans are no longer behind us." (I paraphrased
a little, but this guy's heart is almost broken!).

After all that the seniors have done for us, I hope
that we can stand by them this year, even if they come
in last.
They came to Maine for us, because of us.
I read here and there that they are not hustling and
they are not giving much effort. Nothing could be
further from the truth.
They give it their all, I know that they do. They
often play injured or in pain. They live a very
difficult life, going to classes and going to
practices. They STILL have to go into every game
knowing that every other team would love to beat them
more than they would like to beat almost every other
team in the country because they are playing against
THE MAINE BLACK BEARS.

If you see them, let them know that you are behind
them and that the people who complain all the time (on
uscho) are not the majority. The majority still love
them and are behind them... And SOME of us still have
faith that this season is not just a rebuilding year.
(as asinine as that may sound).

I live right next to Merrimack college. When I am not
at Maine games I am sitting with my son right in the
middle of the Merrimack fans who attend ALL of their
home games and yell and scream and LOVE their
Warriors. (When Maine comes to town, they call me and
Michael the turncoats) There are VERY FEW Merrimack
fans, but there is a lot to be said for these die
hards. If people can be Merrimack fans these past 14
years that I have been here, there is no good reason
that people cannot support Maine THIS season.
