Maine played as well as I have seen them all year. 
A  very gutsy performance against a very good
 Northeastern team that knows how to play defense. 
Says a lot about the coaching staff at Northeastern. 
Maine had many shots go wide or were blocked.  They
out
shot  Northeastern 2-1 but looked like it was going
into
the books as a tie.  BTW Vermont - Merrimack and BU -
Massachusetts both tied last night.  The officials
put their whistles away in OT.  Shepheard got hauled
down
 to the ice next to the goal with 1 minute left.  20
 seconds later Purcell scored the game winner on a
pass from Tyler.  Beautiful!  Purcell deserved that
goal
more than anyone.  He had many scoring opportunities
 all game long and was denied.  Many of his shots were
 wide, over the top or blocked.  Maine never gave up
and kept their composure.  Billy Ryan played a great
 game as well.   Just a great team effort and a game
 they can learn from.  Every series from here on is
huge.
