"Aglae of the Western Great Lakes Area" by Gerald W. Prescott, should be
available to check out in some libraries., or "Freshwater Algae of the
Southeastern United States" by Gary Dillard, several volumes. Actually the
best keys are probably in French and German, but those are usually available
only through interlibrary loan or at places like Harvard Library. If you
look at more than one key, be prepared for some taxonomic confusion. For a
human to identify the little things, try Prof. Alan Baker at Univ. of New
Hampshire. He has been very helpful to me. Good luck.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know of a good key for freshwater algae--in particular
Cladophora?
Thank you very much. Lauren
