Hi everyone - Thought you'd want to see these commnets from Sue Gawler about Kyle Fletcher's suggestions.
Theresa

Hi Theresa -
of course, the Cimicifuga, Aruncus, Hydrangea [Kyle]mentions are not native.
Aster divaricatus is not native this far north in ME. That leaves Aster mac
on his list, if you want to stay with native plants, which (natch!) I would
strongly recommend.

Sue

The list is good but the Iris, ilex, Lobelia and Rosa all prefer shady wet conditions...now good choices...what about cimicifuga racemosa, aruncus dioicus, aster macrophyllus, aster diviricatus, hydrangea arborescens? What do you mean by buffer zone? Sun shade wet / dry? Keep us posted!!Kyle Fletcher-Baker, MCN
