Hi Lorraine,

The Josselyn Botanical Society was formed in 1895 for the "sole purpose of
enhancing the knowledge of botany in Maine". As a society, (we bsically have
one feld trip meeting/year) we have avoided becomeing involved in anything
outside of our organization. However, many of our members are actively
involved with other conservation organizations. Our major role has been the
vascular and cryptogamic plant collections at the University of Maine
Herbarium (it is named after the Josselyn Society). I would urge members to
contact you if they belong to a group that would like to participate. In the
meantime, I will take the issue up with the Board for a vote to see if they
want to bring it up at the April meeting.
