It is my understanding that the #1 and #2 teams have never met to decide
the title the last weekend of the season, so they haven't really been able
to do it before.
When Maine repeated in 1993 they skated with the trophy, probably because
they still had it from the year before! :-)
I'd doubt BU passed on it, rather they probably haven't done this before.
