The concept that I somehow represent women's hockey or am objective is a
complete myth. I push clean, fast skate and pass hockey.
I am not a fan of any given team. I love the game of ice hockey as it can
be played. Currently the women's game is more interesting. There are
coaches trying to bring in more junk and yes, I will object to that.
The ECAC Women's Championship play wasn't very good. Sure, it was typical
play-off hockey, but that usually doesn't cut it with me.
The best part of the women's game right now is the fact that each year we
are seeing more talented players coming into the league. However, how
that skill is developed and used makes a huge difference. There are a
number of forces pushing the women's game right now, unfortunately the
game, as it can be played, is not always at center stage.
As players and coaches know, it is how you play the game that gets me
excited, not who you are, were, or who you play for.
