In a non-conference exibition game tonight the MTU Huskies regained their
composure after being swept by Minn last weekend by putting on a show against
an obviously outmatched Laurentian team. The final score was MTU 10 Laurentian
2.
The line of Steer, Storm and Young put the Huskies way out in front by
scoring 13 points in the game with both Jonh Young and Jim Storm getting the
Hat-trick on the night. Steer added a goal and 4 assists. Jamie Ram played
the first 1/2 of the game and Geoff Seargent finished the game. MTU Goalies
made 18 saves while Laurentian netminders made 36. Up 9-0 the play got a
little chippy in the 3rd period resulting in several bad penalities by LU.
MTU was 5-8 on the power play tonight.
MTU faces WCHA oponnent St Cloud State this weekend inthe John McGinnis
Student Ice Arena. Hopefully they can use this game as a spring board
and confidence builder for the next series, they will need it for its off
to Minnesota the weekend after.
