CCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rob Schriner, a senior center from Ohio State
University, has been selected CCHA Player of the Week for the week ending
December 14, 1991.
Schriner, a 5-11, 185-pound native of Colonsay, Saskatchewan, had four goals
in the Buckeyes home sweep of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). In
Friday's 4-2 Ohio State win, Schriner scored early in the second period to
give OSU a 4-1 lead. In Saturday's 10-7 Buckeye victory, Schriner tallied
three goals including a shorthanded marker. He scored OSU's first two goals
after they fell behind 2-0. Schriner was also +4 for the weekend. His
shorthanded goal on Saturday was his fourth man-down goal this season.
Schriner, a former Notre Dame Hound player and current captain of the OSU
icers, is eligible for the June 1992 NHL supplemental draft.

OSU - Jerry Welsh has recorded a 303-293-44 mark in 17 years with the Buckeyes.
LSSU - Jeff Jackson, in his second year, has an overall record of 48-9-5.
Series: The Lakers have a 42-23-5 lead, with LSSU compiling a 14-0-2 mark in
the last 16 meetings. Last Meeting: Feb. 8-9 at LSSU, the Lakers won 8-3 on
Friday behind two goals each from Karl Johnston, Jim Dowd and Tim Breslin.
Lake Superior won 11-2 on Saturday with Mark Astley, Doug Weight, Sandy Moger
and Breslin each scoring twice.
Western Michigan vs. Michigan State, Jan. 4 at MSU's Munn Arena (6,255) and

Wilkinson, in his 10th season with the Broncos, has an overall record of
189-175-22. MSU - Ron Mason, the second winningest NCAA coach, has a 26-year
career mark of 633-270-39, with a record of 344-160-25 in 13 years at Michigan
State. Series: The Spartans hold a 33-12-2 lead in the all-time series.
Last Meeting: Nov. 23 at WMU, the Broncos won 5-2 as Craig Brown made 35
saves including 16 in the third period. Last Meeting at MSU: Nov. 22, the
Spartans won 4-3 in overtime on Michael Burkett's goal.
Ferris State at Michigan, Jan. 3-4 at Michigan's Yost Arena (7,206). Coaches:
FSU - Bob Mancini, in his second year, has compiled a 25-20-9 record. MICH -
Red Berenson, in his eighth season in Ann Arbor, has compiled a 150-136-18
overall record. Series: The Wolverines have a 23-15-1 lead, which includes
an 8-1-0 mark in the last nine meetings. Last Meeting: Mar. 8 in the CCHA
semi-finals, Michigan won 4-2. Last Meeting at Michigan: Nov. 2-3, 1990, the
Wolverines won 3-2 (OT) Friday with Denny Felsner scoring twice including the
game-winner, while Ferris State won 7-3 on Saturday.
Bowling Green at UIC, Jan. 3-4 at the UIC Pavilion (8,802). Coaches: BGSU -
Jerry York has compiled a 20-year overall mark of 424-284-27 with a 13-year
record of 299-197-24 at Bowling Green. UIC - Larry Pedrie, in his second
season, has compiled a 17-31-4 record. Series: The Falcons have a 35-8-2
lead dating back to 1981. Last Meeting: Nov. 15-16 at BGSU, the Falcons won
9-4 on Friday with Sean Pronger scoring twice. UIC won 10-1 on Saturday as

Madeley - Mr. Consistency: In his last eight appearances (4-1-1) spanning
399 minutes, Laker netminder Darrin Madeley has stopped 153 of 165 shots (.927
saves percentage, while allowing 12 goals for a 1.80 goals against average.
TV Game Selected: The CCHA Game-of-the-Week for the January 10-11 weekend will
be the Saturday contest featuring Lake Superior at Bowling Green. The game
will be aired by PASS on Sunday (January 12th) at 7:30 p.m.
Felsner increases point lead: Michigan senior Denny Felsner had a seven-point
weekend in the Wolverines series against Western Michigan. In Friday's 5-5
overtime tie, Felsner recorded three assists. In Saturday's 7-2 Wolverine win,
Felsner had two goals and two assists. For the season, Felsner has 13 goals
and 24 assists for 37 points in 15 games.
Ferris State and Michigan State all tied up: The all-time series between the
Bulldogs and the Spartans has featured 12 overtime games (including the two
this past weekend). FSU leads the overtime series with a 4-1-7 record.
Madeley sets LSSU shutout minute record: Lake Superior junior netminder Darrin
Madeley broke the Laker record for consecutive shutout minutes on Friday night.
Madeley's streak lasted 152:50 breaking Bruce Hoffort's mark of 151:24 set
during the 1988-89 season. Madeley shutout Michigan for 109:58 and Miami for
the first 42:52 on Friday.
Michigan tough at home: With their home victory on Saturday, Michigan is now
unbeaten in their last 15 regular season home games compiling a 12-0-3 mark.
Ward family battle for goal mark: Western Michigan sophomore right wing Colin
Ward and his brother Dixon, a senior at North Dakota, both have 15 goals this
season. Dixon, however, leads the point race 32-19.
Broncos glad to be done with Michigan: Western Michigan after tying and losing
to the Wolverines are now 0-14-1 in the last 15 meetings and 1-14-3 since the
Broncos won 10-0 in the third game of the CCHA quarterfinal series in 1988.
