An issue that has concerned me for some time is the way in which a DQ is
served. It seems that since conference games likely mean much more than
non-conference games, the DQ would be in effect for the next conference
game. There are obvious exceptions to this which may actually make it even
worse. Now, it seems unlikely that CC would have intentionally given an
advantage to Denver for the series with AA. On the other hand, AA did not
impact a league game for CC. Under a rule where the DQ is served in a league
game it would have impacted the N Dakota series with CC..

Seems there might often be similar special situations where an end of game
fight can pay off. Fights of passion, premeditation or a little bit of both.
Maybe it is more of hierarchy where a positive premeditation result is
necessary so that the team can feel free to let passion rule knowing it will
not be so disadvantageous. The simple example is when teams above the
middle in conference standings are playing and the next conference game is
scheduled for one team versus the league leader and for the other is against
the bottom team in the league. Seems this is a good foundation for a
selective passionate fight to improve the odds of moving up in the
standings..
