Major Outages due to power breaker failure

At a little before 5pm this afternoon a 400 Amp breaker that protects
the feed to our UPS in Orono failed.  Unfortunately we do not have
nearly enough batteries to last the 2 hours it took to replace the
breaker.

 

This outage affected the vast majority of our customers statewide,
ranging from losing all connectivity to losing access to a subset of
services (e-mail, administrative systems, etc...) 

 

We have been stepping through everything since power was restored at
about 6:45pm and believe we have everything up and running.
