If I can add my two cents' worth (perhaps I should reserve comment until I
get my FMH Newsletter and read the article that Cathy mentions)

Does playing a college sport mean that a student athlete becomes an
indentured servant to the NC$$ for the rest of his/her life. I think it's
time for them to get with the program and into the 21st century.

In addition to getting an education, one of the benefits of attending a
particular college or university is the ability to develop/access a network
of fellow alumni who might be able to assist you in personal or
professional development. Dan and I stay with friends when we travel, and
invite friends to stay with us when they're in Massachusetts or Maine. A
member of a fraternity or sorority, for example, will certainly contact
fellow brothers/sisters to obtain advice when looking for a job. Just last
week, I spoke with a fellow Rutgers band alumni and told him I would
circulate his wife's resume at my company's office in New Jersey. The NC$$
always seems to indicate that a student athlete can't have access to
anything a "regular" student can't have. Why is it though, that the NC$$
thinks it can restrict access by a former student athlete to a benefit that
countless other college graduates enjoy.

Having played hockey at Maine, or been in the band may get your foot in the
door, but you can bet that Dr. Adams won't let Scott King work for him
unless he's a capable doctor.

Well, I've finally got my voice back from the Fleece Center lost and found.
I haven't had this happen for a long time!!!

LET'S GO MAINE!!!!
