     Canucks Assign Kariya Syracuse
 
     Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager
     Brian Burke announced today that the Canucks have assigned left
     winger Steve Kariya to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.
 
     Kariya played in 43 games with Vancouver this season, recording
eight
     goals, 11 assists(8-11-19) and 18 penalty minutes. Kariya, 5-foot-7
and
     170 pounds, was signed by Vancouver as a free agent, April 16,
1999.
