Maine can compete with BC, that is no doubt. I agree Schneider is the real
deal, another Ricky DiPietro but without the attitude. Matti "the Finnish
five-hole" would have been beaten for about 3 more than Maine was allowed
last night.

The Black Bears were very disorganized on break-outs last night (most
glaringly in the near own-goal saved by the "other" Lundin goalie on the
team). If they had briskly attacked out of their own zone, they probably
could have exposed BC to a few more odd-man rushes, and with good decisions,
might have found the net once or twice more.

Whatever...I'll be watching tonight to see Jerry York and his shortened
bench demolish New Hampshire.

Looks like Maine is solidly in the 3-seed band for the Round of 16, but
likely will go west. Selection show is tomorrow at 11 AM on ESPN2.

Supposedly tickets are in the mail for Columbus. I will be waiting by the
mailbox today. Should be interesting with Ohio State now seemingly back
into the Tournament after their success in the Super Six, even if they lose
tonight to the Wolverines. Being at home does NOT guarantee the title, but
certainly does raise the ante for scalping tickets, tee hee.

Prophetic trip: Lindsay and I drove from Syracuse to Burlington the day of
the Maine hockey opener last October. Whilst the Catamount skaters lost
that contest to our beloved Black Bears, hopefully some of the magic might
have rubbed off.

Suggestion to coach Whitehead: feed your skaters Ben and Jerry's and some
Cabot cheese on board the charter flight west.

Dan (yep, that is first name)
