> Andrews call his game, and he is fair, fiar to both teams... not a judgement, poor-fair-good -excellent.. but he is fair to both teams and he is a fine ref.

> the poor officiating that Hache does is not even based on his calls or non calls for penalties... it is poor because he is out of position to make calls.

> Is gravelese "poor" becasue he blows the whistle when he loses sight of the puck around a goalie... even when the puck is loose? the answer is "no, the rulebook states that a ref. will blow the whistle when he loses sight of the puck" not when the goalie hs it covered up.

> "had control" I will still never understand how a referee has or does not have control... those a re big boys out there, it is up to the coaches and the players to control things, not the ref.
>
> how in hell is a ref gonna control Prestin Ryan? either he controls himself, or Whitehead benches him. there is nothing that a ref can do within the rules to "control" Ryan.
>
> I have seen the present dartmouth coach give a ref the finger while yelling at him... then he sends the goons out to retaliate against the other team... the ref. calls the bench minor for abuse of officials, but the ref cannot control whether the goon boards someone... he can only call the panalty when it is deserved... the COACH controls the players, and the players control whether they will do what the coach tells 'em to do.
