The Black Bears will be on the road for the first round of the Hockey
East playoffs.  Excluding 1993-94 when several games had to be
forfeited, this is the first year since 1985-86 that Maine will not
finish third or higher in the league. In 1985-86, Maine finished with
an 11-28-1 record overall and went 8-25-1 in Hockey East to finish in
fifth place. There were only seven teams in Hockey East at that time
however.

First place finishes in league since 1984-85: 3
Second place finishes: 4
Third place finishes: 3
In 1993-94 and 1984-85 Maine finished in last place. In 1985-86 they
finished in fifth place.
