Ok folks, I didn't see either game (listened to both on WZON Internet),
but scoring 3 goals in two games and only managing a 1-0 win and a tie
against Alabama-Huntsville at home on the heels of sweeping a quality
program like UNH...
I'm very disappointed.
Now.. hopefully someone who saw both games can give me some reasons why
I shouldn't be disappointed in these events. (Certainly the power play
is NOT one of those reasons! :-)
I was hoping the UNH wins would be a springboard and a sign that this
team has begun to mature to the point where it can realize its full
potential, but that doesn't appear to have happened. That is *not* a
surprise because they are so young. I'm thrilled that we've won 20
games by early February and barring a disaster, will be going to the
NCAA Tournament. If the season ended today, I'd call it a resounding
success.
I think we've got to grow a little more as a team to make a run in
March (and April), however. Unlike some programs, our goal is to win a
national championship each season. I'm not sure we are quite ready for
that... yet.
