Great Post, Zerb!
It was very obvious from the game tape that Fitzy REALLY did NOT want to call
the stick illegal, but eventually had to. Of course Parker had to know his
player was carting around an illegal stick, but no where in the Boston papers
will you see that CHEAT identified as such.
I would hope that somewhere along the way someone with decision making
authority looks at the tapes, and is disturbed enough by the discrimation
showed by the refs that something or someone gets changed. As a parent, I
want my children growing up to respect authority, but only if it is deserved.
It could be just too discouraging the way it is, but the Bears certainly have
overcome greater obstacles in the past! I don't see this getting them down!
