Good news for Jimmy as he is stepping up with Chris
Osgood out for a bit with a groin pull. It seems he
is already number three on the depth chart.

In reading some of the ESPN recaps it is weird to see
him listed as "James Howard"

Below is an exerpt from the Detroit Free Press.

"The last thing a goalie needs," general manager Ken
Holland said Monday, "is a nagging groin injury. These
things need the necessary time to heal. No exhibition
games for him. In all probability, when he's ready to
play, he'll play a couple games in Grand Rapids. He's
going to need some games."

If Osgood isn't ready to play by the Oct. 5 opener,
the team will enter the season with Manny Legace and
Jimmy Howard in goal.
