HIDALGO, Texas -- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (CHL) today announced
the signing of 6-foot-4, 210-pound defensemen and former University of
Maine Black Bears co-captain Jeff Mushaluk (MUSH-a-luk).

Mushaluk, 25, co-captained the University of Maine Black Bears last
season, and served as an assistant captain in 2003-04. All three goals he
scored that season were game-winners, and he was named a Hockey East
All-Academic Team honoree.

A native of Armstrong, British Columbia, Mushaluk played in the 2004 NCAA
Frozen Four National Championship game. The Black Bears lost the final to
the University of Denver, which also claimed the title in 2005. Mushaluk
played two seasons at Maine, and one season at Lake Superior State
University, totaling 91 games as a collegian. He was forced to sit out
games, but able to practice, during the 2002-03 season after transferring
from Lake Superior to Maine. He totaled 20 points (5-15-20) over three
NCAA seasons.

"Jeff is a big, stay-at-home defenseman, but also has some skill. He's a
character guy with good leadership qualities," said Killer Bees head coach
Tracy Egeland. "He has a huge upside and should be a stabilizing force on
our blue line."

The Killer Bees offer a variety of ticket options from party suite rentals
to full and partial season tickets. Single-game ticket prices range from
$11 to $23 with discounts for groups and fundraisers. Full-season ticket
packages are as low as $480. Season tickets and corporate opportunities
are now available by calling the Killer Bees office at (956) 843-7825.

Opening weekend of the 2005-06 CHL season at the Dodge Arena is October
21-22 with a pair of games against the Lubbock Cotton Kings. The Bees will
also host CHL All Star festivities January 16-18. For more information
