Howard, Moore Lead Team Blue at National Junior Evaluation Camp


ORONO, Maine-- University of Maine men's ice hockey players Jimmy
Howard (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) and Greg Moore (Lisbon, Maine) are currently
playing for the United States Blue Team at the National Junior
Evaluation Camp. The pair were instrumental in leading the Blue Team to
a 7-3 victory over Sweden on Tuesday night at the Olympic Center in
Lake Placid, N.Y.

Howard made 22 saves on 25 shots in goal. He allowed two first-period
tallies but Team Blue was able to knot the score by the end of the
first period. Team Blue outscored Sweden 5-1 in the remaining two
periods to earn the 7-3 victory. Moore registered an assist on the
second Team Blue goal, scored by Boston College forward Patrick Eaves
at 17:52 of the first period.

Team Blue and Team White, which posted a 5-2 victory over Finland, are
made up of 43 prospective American players for the 2004 International
Ice Hockey Federation World Championships. Team Blue will face Finland
today, Wednesday, August 6, at 4 PM.

The tournament runs through August 10th.
