UMaine Alumni Hockey Game Slated for July 6

ORONO, Maine-- The University of Maine men's ice hockey program will
host its alumni weekend events on Sunday, July 6 and Monday, July 7.
Over 30 alumni have already committed to attend the two-day event which
features an alumni game and a golf tournament.

Among the notable alumni scheduled to be in Orono for the weekend
festivities include current NHL players Niko Dimitrakos (San Jose
Sharks), Scott Pellerin (Phoenix Coyotes) and Eric Weinrich
(Philadelphia Flyers). Both the 1992-93 and 1998-99 National
Championship squads will be well represented as 12 members of each team
are scheduled to return.

Alfond Arena will host the alumni game on July 6 at 2:15 p.m. Tickets
will be available at the door the day of the game only and the arena
opens 45 minutes prior to game time. Admission prices for the alumni
game are $3 for adults and $1 for children 12 years old and under.

Penobscot Valley Country Club will host the alumni hockey golf
tournament which gets under way the following day at 8 a.m. There is
still space available in the golf tournament. Contact Jeanne Goss at
the UMaine hockey office (207) 581-1106 for reservations or additional
information. All proceeds raised at the alumni weekend events will
benefit the UMaine hockey program.
