I would tend to agree that having the U-18 team come gives recruiters a
chance to get a look at potential prospects. But it would also be a good
idea to at least have one other top D-I school there. Being a student at
Michigan State (but from Orono) It was fun to see Boston College come out
here to play in our tourney to start the year. It featured a top Hockey East
school, a team that is traditionally near the top of the CCHA and a WHCA
team as well. A great mix of schools that provided for some good hockey to
watch. Maybe Maine could look into inviting a school like Michigan State or
even Notre Dame, Miami of Ohio, Western Michigan or another mid level CCHA
team for a little bit of increased competition in future tourneys.
