Wednesday's Boston Globe included the following tidbits about former
Black bears.

A good deal of Kentucky's regular season success-first place in the
southern division, the AHL's best road record, third fewest goals
allowed - was because of it's defense, and none stood taller than Dave
Macissac, whose plus-37 rating earned him the league's plus-minus Player
of the Year Award.  Macissac, an Arlington,MA native who was a member of
Maine's first NCAA championship team in 1993, has played professionally
since 1995.

The New Haven Knights made it to the semifinals of the United Hockey
League's playoffs before falling to Asheville.  New haven set a league
record for victories (41) and points (89) by an expansion team.  Among
the Knight's top performers was Blair Allison, the UHL's goalie of the
year and first team all star.  Allison another member of the 1993 Maine
title team, was 29-13-6 with a 2.63 GAA to rank second in the league.
