For those of you who didn't see it elsewhere, Maine won in overtime
tonight. It wasn't all that pretty (they played great at times, though),
but it's nice to have two points with UNH idle this weekend.

Nikko was in Coach's doghouse for most of the second period, he was on the
ice for the goal that made it 2-2, then sat for several minutes. On his
next shift, Maine went down 3-2. I was half expecting to see him sitting
up in the stands for the third period. He redeemed himself somewhat in the
third period.

The Maine presence at tonight's game was INCREDIBLE. It was like they
moved the Alfond to the intersection of Route 114 and 125 in North Andover
(all that was missing were the Naked 5 and the pep band). We really got
into it late in the third period - the shouts of "Lets Go Maine" started to
drown out the canned music that they play in the rink (they even tried to
turn up the music). I like to think it helped keep the team's spirits up.

Dan and I saw one of the assistant coaches at Fuddrucker's before the game.
He actually approached us, shook my hand and told us to make sure we cheer
the team on at the game.

Let's hope for a good turnout tomorrow night too -- Note to Bob Thomas and
John Gabarra - Merrimack is closer to Bangor than Lowell. Maybe I'll have
my voice back by then.
